DEMAND WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS
Matthew 3:15
“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness”
A. Sometimes we need those whom we have been elevated above to do the thing they have been called to do, for us, so that our righteousness may be fulfilled.
i. Demand that they do their part so that you can do yours.
B. Being chosen doesn’t exempt you from the process of becoming righteous.
i. Even Yahushua (Jesus) required baptism to become righteous.
KNOW THE WHOLE WORD, LEST THE ENEMY WHO DOES KNOW IT USE IT’S PARTS AGAINST YOU
Matthew 4:4
“It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
A. Temptation is not reserved for the sinner and testing is not reserved for the saint. The two are one thing, both intended to reveal your true nature and the strongest of your inner desires.
B. Don’t choose your physical needs at the expense of your soul. Life is more than the physical. Value what is eternal.
YAHUAH, THE FATHER, IS NOT PARTICIPATING IN YOUR GAMES AND CHALLENGES
Matthew 4:7
“It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”
A. When you act outside of logic, reason, instruction, and the basic common sense HE’s given you because you think Yahuah (GOD) will save you to prove himself, you fall and die because he will not.
THE ENEMY WILL OFFER YOU THE THINGS OF THIS WORLD TO MAKE YOU RELY ON IT/HIM
Matthew 4:10
“Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
A. When you are offered things in exchange for submission, know that Satan is in your midst.
B. Only rely on (worship) Yahuah and submit to him.
C. Yahushua worshipped Yahuah, not himself. You must also worship the Father, not the son, to be considered Christ-like.
THE FIRST THING YOU MUST DO IS CHANGE YOUR WAYS AND WRONG BELIEFS.
Matthew 4:17
“Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
A. The first instruction Yahushua gave after becoming the light, was for people to stop doing what they were doing (i.e. repentance) because the kingdom was being formed at that time.
i. Stop waiting for kingdom to come. It’s here now and has been for over 2000 years. As with all things, it’s a process and this process starts with you changing from your beliefs to Yahuah’s TRUTH which Yahushua came to lay bare.
TO BE A FISHERMAN AND NOT A FISH, YOU ARE TO FOLLOW CHRIST – NOT PAUL, THE DECIPLES, YOUR PASTOR, RELIGIOUS DOCTRINE, OR OTHER PERSON OR MAN-MADE IDEOLOGY.
Matthew 4:19
“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
A. Yahushua chose the least and made them the called out.
B. He didn’t choose the scholars and religious leaders of his day (or this one) – just regular people willing to follow and learn from him.
RECEIVE YOUR REWARD EITHER IN THE WORLD OR IN THE KINGDOM – NOT BOTH!
Matthew 5:3-12
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
A. Following Christ looks like suffering and persecution.
B. Being Christ-like makes you exempt from eternal hell, but causes you to experience hell on earth.
OUR SUFFERING IS WHAT GIVES US FLAVOR.
Matthew 5:13
“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”
A. To eliminate suffering from the process of righteousness is to eliminate the thing that makes righteousness possible.
BE THE LIGHT
Matthew 5:14-16
“14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
A. The light was never reserved only for Yahushua. He came that we too might become light.
B. Such light will be revealed before man.
C. Your light is revealed when others see that you DO/ARE good.
D. Yahushua’s and your light is intended to glorify (promote) Yah, the Father – not the son, nor yourself.
THERE IS NO “NEW” TESTAMENT
Matthew 5:17-19
“17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
A. Yahushua didn’t change anything. His purpose was to reestablish and reinforce the WORD which had already existed and to bring to fruition the prophecy therein. Therefore; His testimony was not new, just part of the same testament as those who came before him.
B. No laws or prophecy were changed or made obsolete by his coming.
i. The prophecies will still happen.
ii. The instructions (laws) must still be followed.
C. Anyone who teaches that they were done away with will be called the least in the kingdom.
i. Spreading this misinformation has a price, yet those who spread it are still of the kingdom as the lesser ones.
D. Those who teach that those laws are still in effect will be called the greatest in the kingdom.
i. The reward for spreading the complete truth is being considered greater in the kingdom.
E. Heaven has a hierarchy.
RELIGIOUS LEADERS ARE NOT THE UPPER BENCHMARK FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, BUT THE LOWER
Matthew 5:20
“For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
A. Your righteousness must be greater than religious leaders, whom as we now know, were never actually righteous. They only held themselves as such; hence, they will NOT enter into the kingdom and neither will you if your righteousness does not exceed theirs.
B. You must be more righteous than religious leaders. So how than can they teach you righteousness, having not mastered it themselves and having little understanding of it?
NOT MENDING RELATIONSHIPS IS TREATED THE SAME AS MURDER
Matthew 5:21-24
“21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.”
